Who we are. Mekong Atlas (“we”) publishes travel guides at this website. This policy explains what data is processed when you visit, and the choices you have. Contact for all privacy matters: hello@mekongatlas.example.
Data we process. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention, retained for up to 30 days. We use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand which guides are read; no analytics profile identifies you personally.
Advertising & cookies. This site is intended to display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to measure ad performance and to prevent fraud. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Consent. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a Google-certified consent banner (IAB TCF / Google Consent Mode v2) before any advertising cookies are set. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. Where consent is declined, only non-personalised ads may be shown.
Your rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection), the California CCPA/CPRA (including “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”), Japan’s APPI, and Singapore’s PDPA. To exercise any of these, email hello@mekongatlas.example with the subject “Privacy”; we respond within the statutory deadline. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
Third-party links & embeds. Pages embed Google Maps and load fonts from Google Fonts and images from Wikimedia Commons; these providers process your IP address when content is loaded. Their own privacy policies apply.
Children. This site is a general-audience travel publication and is not directed at children under 16. We knowingly collect no data from children.
Changes. We will post any material change to this policy on this page with a new “last updated” date.
