The largest religious monument on earth — a 12th-century model of the Hindu cosmos in 5 million tonnes of sandstone, later rededicated to Buddhism and never abandoned. The five towers at dawn justify every alarm clock ever set.

Yes once — but the real payoff is having the galleries near-empty right after.

1-day or 3-day pass?

3-day: Angkor Wat deserves a revisit and the small circuit needs its own morning.

Guide or audio-app?

For the bas-reliefs, a human guide; the myths need a storyteller, not a map.
