01Overview
For 143 years the Nguyễn dynasty ruled from this moated citadel on the Perfume River. War hollowed parts of it; restoration is filling them back in. Huế moves slower than any city in Vietnam, and its royal kitchen left the country's most refined food.

11Questions we actually get
How long?
One full day covers Citadel + two tombs; add a half-day for the food alone.
Which tombs if I pick two?
Tu Duc for gardens, Khai Dinh for the mosaic interior — skip the rest first visit.
Hue → Da Nang: train or bike?
The Hai Van Pass by motorbike is the country's best 21 km; the train's left-side window is second best.
